Terms

Terms of service

These terms apply to everyone who uses UK-CIC.com. They took effect on 7 November 2026.

Who we are

UK-CIC.com is run by Are You Faster CIC (AREYOUFASTER CIC), a community interest company registered in England and Wales, company number 16536715. Registered office: Unit 82a, James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. These terms are an agreement between you and Are You Faster CIC.

Who can apply

Community groups, charities, CICs, clubs, small businesses, sole traders and people with an idea can apply for a free website. If you apply for an organisation, you must be able to act for it. A member of our team checks every application, and we may ask for more information or decline an application.

The free website service

  • The free service includes a website of up to five pages, designed and built by hand by the UK-CIC.com studio: Home and Contact, plus up to three of About, What we do, Events, Gallery and Get involved. It comes with its privacy page, hosting at your-name.uk-cic.com, the secure contact form and the private inbox.
  • You can ask for changes before your website is published. Nothing is published until you approve the design and a member of the UK-CIC.com team approves the final version.
  • We do not promise a date for your website. It depends on how many submissions we have.
  • We may decline a submission that breaks these terms, and we tell you why.
  • If you are no longer able to act for the organisation, or it stops operating, we may suspend or remove its website.

Your content

  • You are responsible for making sure your website is accurate and that you may use every photo, logo and piece of writing on it.
  • Websites must not impersonate anyone, mislead visitors, ask for passwords or payment details or contain unlawful or harmful content.
  • You keep the rights in what you send us. You allow Are You Faster CIC to use it to build, host and show your website and to run the service.
  • Our studio builds your website from the information you give us. Check every detail of the design before you approve it.

Review and publication

  • Every website and every change is reviewed before it is published. We may ask for changes or decline.
  • We may suspend or remove a website that breaks these terms or is the subject of a valid complaint. We may also pause it while a dispute about who can act for an organisation is resolved.

Messages sent through your website

  • For messages sent through your website's contact form, your organisation (or you, if you applied for yourself) is the controller and Are You Faster CIC is its processor. The controller decides why and how the messages are used; the processor acts on the controller's instructions.
  • We store the messages, show them in your private inbox, email them to the people you choose (each one as it arrives, or a daily summary), export them when you ask and delete them when your retention period ends. We do nothing else with them unless you instruct us in writing or the law requires it.
  • Everyone who handles the messages for us is bound by confidentiality, and only the people you invite can see your inbox.
  • You agree to the services listed in our privacy notice handling the messages for us. We tell you before we add or replace one, so that you can object.
  • We help you answer requests from the people who sent the messages, give you the information you need to check that we meet these terms and tell you without undue delay if a breach affects your messages.

Fair use

  • To protect everyone, each website's contact form accepts up to 50 messages a day by default. Visitors are told when a form cannot take more messages.
  • Free hosting has shared limits. We cannot promise unlimited traffic, and unusually heavy use of one website may be limited to keep the service running for everyone.

Closing your website

You can close your website at any time. Before your data is deleted you are offered an export of your approved website and your enquiries.

Our responsibility to you

  • We build and run the service with care. It is free, and we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of faults.
  • We are not responsible for losses that could not be foreseen, or for loss of business, income or profit.
  • Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we publish the new version on this page with the date it takes effect, and ask you to accept it before you next apply or submit.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
