Privacy notice

How UK-CIC.com uses personal information, and your rights. Last updated 7 November 2026.

Who we are

UK-CIC.com is run by Are You Faster CIC (AREYOUFASTER CIC), a community interest company registered in England and Wales, company number 16536715. Registered office: Unit 82a, James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. Contact us about anything in this notice at admin@areyoufaster.com.

Two different roles

Using UK-CIC.com. For accounts, applications, briefs, submissions, reference files, the studio's work, audit records and abuse reports, Are You Faster CIC is the controller. The controller decides why and how information is used.

Messages sent through a website. When you use the contact form on a website we host, the organisation that runs the website decides what happens to your message: it is the controller. UK-CIC.com stores and delivers the message on its behalf, as its processor, and acts only on its instructions. Each website has its own privacy page explaining this; it is linked from the contact form.

What we collect

  • Accounts: your name, email address and how you sign in.
  • Applications: what you tell us about your group, organisation or idea, your role and any evidence you choose to provide. If you give a company number, we read the company's public record at Companies House.
  • Website content: your answers to the brief, your ideas and references, and the pictures and files you upload.
  • Contact form messages: the sender's name, email address, optional phone number, subject, message and whether they asked to receive news from the organisation.
  • Abuse reports: the web address reported, the description and, if given, the reporter's email address.
  • Service records: limited technical, security and audit records needed to run and protect the service.

Why we use it

  • To run the service you asked for: your account, your application, building, checking and hosting your website, your inbox and the emails about them. We rely on our agreement with you, or on our legitimate interest in providing the service to the organisation you act for.
  • To keep the service safe: checking applications, blocking spam and abuse, dealing with reports and keeping security and audit records. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
  • To meet the law: keeping the records and answering the requests the law requires. We rely on our legal obligations.

We never sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and tracking

The UK-CIC.com pages and the websites hosted here set no cookies and use no tracking or advertising scripts. The app keeps you signed in with storage in your browser, which the service needs to work. The contact and report forms use reCAPTCHA by Google to block automated spam, which processes information about your device and how you use the page for that purpose.

Who handles it for us

  • Google: Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (the database), Firebase Hosting (these pages and the websites we host), Google Apps Script (the programs that run the service), Google Drive (private storage for pictures and files) and Google's email service (account, enquiry, summary and update emails).
  • reCAPTCHA by Google: checks that messages sent through the public forms come from people.
  • Namecheap: the uk-cic.com domain name and the forwarding of email sent to uk-cic.com addresses.

Google stores the service's data in Europe. Where Google processes data outside the UK, its data processing terms include the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Your brief, pictures and files are seen by the UK-CIC.com studio so that it can build your website. Files you add for reference are deleted 90 days after your website first goes live, when you remove them or when you close your site.
