UK-CIC.com builds free websites for community groups, charities, CICs, clubs, small businesses, sole traders and people with an idea. Our studio designs and builds every website by hand, with up to five pages, a secure contact form and a private inbox. Nothing goes live until you have approved the design and a person has checked every page.
How websites are made
You describe your work through a guided form: what you do, who it is for, your tone, a visual style, your exact brand colours and your own photos. You can add your logo, files and ideas too, such as websites you like. When you submit your brief, the UK-CIC.com studio builds your website by hand. The platform then adds the parts that must always be right, such as the footer, the link to the contact form and your privacy page.
Our team builds only from what you provide and does not add facts, reviews or statistics that are not in your brief. If something is missing or unclear, we email you to ask. When your design is ready, you check it at phone, tablet and desktop sizes and approve it or ask for changes.
How we keep websites safe
- Websites are plain, static pages. They cannot run scripts or load content from other websites.
- Every page our studio builds is checked automatically for unsafe code, unexpected links and common accessibility problems.
- A member of the UK-CIC.com team approves the exact version that will be published, and nothing else.
- Contact forms are run centrally by UK-CIC.com and protected against spam. Each website's messages are kept in its own private inbox.
- Only the people a website team has invited can see its inbox.
Accessibility
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, both on these pages and in the websites we produce. Colours are checked for contrast, pages work with a keyboard and images need a description. If something does not work for you, please tell us.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. The website, hosting, contact form, private inbox and enquiry emails are all free, within the fair-use limits in the terms of service.
- Do I need any technical knowledge?
- No. You answer questions in plain language, choose from visual options and add your photos, files and ideas. Our studio builds the website, so you never need to write code or set up hosting.
- Can I change my website after it is published?
- Yes. Send us an update with the changes you want, and our studio prepares a new version. You check and approve it, and it is reviewed again before it replaces the live website.
- I already have a design. Can I use it?
- Yes, as a guide. Add pictures or a PDF of it, or a link to it, to your ideas and references, and our studio uses it when building your website. Scripts and embedded third-party widgets are not allowed on UK-CIC.com websites.
- How do visitors contact us?
- Every website links to one secure contact form run by UK-CIC.com. Messages go to your private inbox and are emailed to you as they arrive, or in one summary a day if you prefer. Visitors do not get an automatic confirmation email, but they are shown a reference number.
